big day out.....
wow, what a day! 13 hours of amazing live music, good company (kel and jen....and the other 73624803264 people at the festival), beer and sunshine. a little too much sunshine actually, very very very red today. the sunshine was followed by a quick downpour - there's nothing like dancing in the rain though is there??? especially when it's to the melodies of powderfinger....closely followed by the beastie boys! ha - retro. made a statement in my bintang get up. (bintang is indonesian beer and the girls brought me back souviners from bali), many a plesant response to our attire. 'heyyyyy bintang girls!', 'how good is bintang!?', 'when did you go to indo?'......yes, yes, yes. :) can't quite put it into words. thousands of people, majority of which were out of it on pingers, weed, mushies and the like....if u weren't on, u were drinking and if you weren't drinking you were lost! being the good girl i am, i was into the beers and playing babysitter for young kel, who at one stage believed she was on the moon. (yeh kids, drugs are bad). great music and much love. oh and a man dressed as a giant sperm handing out condoms - which ulitmately became 'balloons' above the mosh. line up was huge...check it out http://www.bigdayout.com/cities/05TIMESgoldcoast.pdfcan't wait til next year.... c'mon aussie, c'mon, c'mon!
'AUSTRALIA UNITES.....reaching out to ASIA' on every channel on tv (and i am talking every channel) tonight, a concert at sydney opera house is being televised and money is being raised by the million. (over 15 million in the first hour). i have never been so proud to be an australian. the stories of people donating cash, people volunteering their time, their services and their love is second to none. "...for those who come across the seas, we've boundless plains to share - with courage let us all combine and advance australia fair. in joyful strength, then let us sing - advance australia fair!' | | Friday, January 7th, 2005 | | 12:43 am |
reading the book......again - for no reason whatsoever
'Panic was my first reaction to the mutiple choice options which lay on my desk in front of me. I glanced at the students around me b4 turning back to question 3. I hated multiple choice. Yet I didn't want to get question 3 wrong. I didn't want to get any of them wrong. The outcome would be to devastating for my sense of being. So I began with elimination. 'D' was completely out of the question as was 'A', so that left 'B' and 'C'. I pondered both for quite a while and just as I was about to make my final decision I heard my name being called. 'Josephine?' 'Huh?' 'I think you mean "I beg your pardon" don't you, dear?' 'Um...yeah.' 'Um, yeah? Excellent, Josephine. I can see you walking away with the English prize this year. Now stand up.' So my final school year began. I had promised myself that I would be a saint for this year alone. I would make the greatest impression on my teachers and become the model student. I knew it would all fail. But just not on the first day. Sister Gregory walked towards me and when she was so close that I could see her moustache, she held out her hand. 'Show me what you're reading.' I handed it to her and watched her mouth purse itself together and her nostrils flare in triumph because she knew she was going to get me. She skimmed it and then handed it back to me. I could feel my heart beating fast. 'Read from where you were up to.' I picked up the magazine and cleared my throat. '"What kind of a friend are you?"' I read from Hot Pants magazine. She looked at me pointedly. '"You are at a party",' I beagn with a sigh, '"and your best friend's good-looking, wealthy and successful boyfriend tries to make a pass. Do you: A- Smile obligingly and steal away into the night via the back door; B- Throw your coctail all over his Calvin Klien Suit; C- Quietly explain the loyalty you have towards your friend; D- Tell your friend instantly, knowing that she will make a scene".' You can understand now why I found it hard to pick between 'B' and 'C'.....' AHHH YES, 'LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI'. USING THIS AS A MONOLOGUE WAS PART OF THE REASON I WAS ACCEPTED INTO APPLIED THEATRE AT UNI. GO ALIBRANDI, GO. | | Monday, January 3rd, 2005 | | 11:13 am |
you are lavenderblush #FFF0F5 | Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.
Your saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate wasting energy making everyone else think you're working.
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

ahhh yes - fantastic start to the new year
well i must say, this new years was one of the best yet. i had a fantabulous evening....morning. started the evening drinking midori and lemon squash at grant and joel's beach house in broadbeach. watched the early (8pm) fireworks on the beach and drank some more....sand got in my glass - not cool - but we returned to the house shortly after and all was fixed. then caught the 'paris hilton limo' (the car she had while she was shooting a movie here and then happened to leave behind), a super stretch limo with not one but two (two!) little bard and fridges, two (two!) tv's and a stereo system which is controlled from the back so we could choose exactly what we wanted to listen to and play it exactly the volume we wanted.....loud? ohhh my goodness yes. we also played with the sun roof - standing on our chairs and waving to innocent by-standers while spilling numerous glasses of alcohol on the roof of the limo every time we took off at lights, (i made sure i cleaned it up tho cause i am nice like that), and, yes, kellie flashed her boobies to a bus load of boys. (it's tradition ----- AND WE WERE IN A GIANT LIMO!) riiiight. so we catch the limo to surfers paradise and went to the party we had soooooooo luckly been invited to by some rich kid that grant and joel know. didn't have to pay entry fee to any clubs or for any alcohol all night. needless to say - it got messy. but oh so worth it. danced the night away and then caught a limo back to grant and joel's around 5am. (not the giant one unfortunately!) back at the house we drank more (why? cause its 2005 baby), and then watched the incredibles. then it was bedtime. amazing. 2005 is going to be HUGE. happy new year guys. and so the great day comes to a close...
... after the excitment in the bathroom i headed to work and spent most of my shift hemming pants/jeans/etc for customer orders. so technically i sat in the back room, listened to good music and played with a sewing machine. stoked! i may as well wear my pj's to work if thats all i am going to do! after work i invested in a gold ring, an early xmas present from me to me. my plan was to put it on lay-by and pay it off slowly, but when i got to the jewellery store it was HALF PRICE! i was just like 'yeehhh this is a sign - must buy - right now'. so i am now the proud owner of a classy looking gold ring with a pinkish-reddish heart and diamond chips - tis tres beautimus.....oooo i am sooo up there with the hilton sisters right now. hahahah. from there i went to meet the photographer who is shooting my pix for this new job i have. he and his wife, (who will be doing my hair and make-up), were both really nice so i am not half as nervous about the shoot as i was b4 the meeting. now it is time for me to get my jammies on and wind down. i have to get up at 4am for work tomorrow.....but i finish at 1 so at least i will have the afternoon to play with..... | | 8:57 am |
i'm awake early.....and i like it!?
today is going to be a strange day....i'm not usually an early riser, unless i have something worthwhile to 'rise' for. however, today i woke up early - feeling fantastic. odd. so i am going to use this time wisely and have a great day. i'll fill you in on the great activities later but for now i must make note of the first exciting thing to happen today, i flooded the bathroom. i strated to run a bath and then went outside and got sidetracked playing with jack - my dog. anyways, about 20 minutes later i return to find that my bath has taken over the entire room.....sounds like a hassle - but i am up early, so i have all the time in the world to stop in the puddles and have a jolly ole time b4 cleaning it up! yes today is good. |
